Ignition 8.1 build

This page covers installation of the Ignition 8.1 build of the Teltonika module (SDK 8.1.20). For the current release, see the latest documentation.

Prerequisites

• Ignition 8.1.20 or higher
• The Alarm Notification module (included with Ignition's Alarming feature)
• A Teltonika cellular router with SMS capability
• Plain HTTP network access from the Ignition gateway to the router
• Router credentials with SMS-sending permission
• An active SIM card with SMS capability

Router Preparation

Before installing the module, prepare the Teltonika router:

1. Verify SIM Card - Ensure the SIM is active and can send SMS
2. Enable the Web API - Enable the router's HTTP API used for SMS sending
3. Create/confirm a user - A user account whose credentials can authenticate to the API
4. Note the address - Record the router's IP address or hostname (and non-standard port, if any)
5. Identify the modem - For REST API mode, note the modem name (used in the Modem field)

Installation Steps

1. Log in to your Ignition Gateway web interface
2. Navigate to Config > Modules
3. Click Install or Upgrade a Module
4. Select the Teltonika-Alarm-Notification.modl file
5. Review and accept the license agreement
6. The module installs and registers with the Alarm Notification system

Verification

After installation:

1. Verify the module appears in the modules list with Running status
2. Navigate to Config > Alarming > Notification
3. Click Create new Alarm Notification Profile...
4. Verify that Teltonika Notification appears as an available profile type

Network Requirements

The Ignition gateway must be able to reach the Teltonika router over plain HTTP.

Teltonika Router IP / hostname	HTTP	80 (default), or the port embedded in the Host field

Firewall Configuration

If the router is on a different network segment, ensure firewall rules allow HTTP traffic from the Ignition gateway to the router.

Dependencies

The module requires the Alarm Notification module, which is included in all Ignition installations with the Alarming feature.

Troubleshooting

Issue	Solution
Module not appearing	Restart the Ignition gateway and check the gateway logs
"Teltonika Notification" not in profile types	Verify the Alarm Notification module is running
Cannot connect to router	Verify the Host (including port if non-standard) and network connectivity
Authentication failed	Verify the Username and Password in the profile
SMS not sending	Check SIM status and signal strength on the router itself
